From Paper to Pixels: Data from the Shift to Digital Program Books

Many arts organizations continue to have questions about the relationship between printed and digital programs. To provide the best answers to these questions, we turned to our clients.

We invited our InsideGuide clients to complete our second annual survey on digital and printed programs. We asked 14 questions:

  1. Do you provide a print option in addition to your digital programs?

  2. Which types of print options do you provide?

  3. How do you deliver your print options?

  4. Have you reduced your printing costs since implementing digital programs?

  5. How much of your program printing costs have you been able to eliminate?

  6. Do your digital programs include items that could not be included in a printed program?

  7. Which of these digital-only items have you included in your digital programs?

  8. Have you had to make any last-minute changes to a program?

  9. How frequently did you have last minute changes over the past year?

  10. Do you include ads from external organizations in your digital programs?

  11. How do you source your digital program's external ads?

  12. Do you charge more or less for your digital ads than you would for print ads?

  13. Is your InsideGuide account connected to Google Analytics (web traffic) and/or Google Firebase?

  14. How frequently do you view the analytics for you programs?

47 organizations completed the survey. Here are the results.
